1. Acceptance of Terms

By placing an order, visiting our food truck, or using any of our services, including online pre-orders or catering inquiries, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

Guntur Talkies reserves the right to update or modify these Terms at any time without prior notice. Your continued use of our services following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. About The Guntur Talkies

Guntur Talkies is a food truck business specializing in authentic South Indian cuisine, operating in and around West Des Moines, Iowa. We serve freshly prepared dishes inspired by the culinary traditions of Andhra Pradesh and the broader South Indian region.

Our operating hours, location schedule, and menu are subject to change. Current information is available on our official social media channels and on any online platforms we maintain.

3. Orders And Payment

3.1 Placing Orders

Orders may be placed in person at our food truck window or through any authorized online pre-order platform we designate. All orders are subject to availability. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for legitimate business reasons.

3.2 Pricing

All prices are listed in U.S. dollars and are subject to applicable Iowa state and local sales taxes. Prices may change without prior notice. The price displayed at the time of your order confirmation is the price you will be charged.

3.3 Payment Methods

We accept the following forms of payment:

  • Cash
  • Major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover)
  • Mobile payment platforms (Apple Pay, Google Pay) where available

All transactions are final upon completion. We do not accept checks or IOUs.

3.4 Order Accuracy

Please review your order carefully before completing your purchase. It is your responsibility to communicate any special requests, modifications, or dietary requirements at the time of ordering. We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate requests, but we cannot guarantee all modifications.

4. Food Safety and Allergen Disclosure

Guntur Talkies prepares food in a mobile kitchen environment. While we take every precaution to maintain high food safety standards, please be aware of the following:

  • Our menu items may contain or come into contact with common allergens, including tree nuts, peanuts, gluten, dairy, eggs, sesame, and soy.
  • We cannot guarantee a completely allergen-free preparation environment.
  • Customers with known food allergies or dietary restrictions should notify our staff before ordering and exercise personal judgment regarding the suitability of our items on the menu.
  • Consuming raw or undercooked foods may increase the risk of foodborne illness. Certain menu items may contain raw or partially cooked ingredients.

By ordering from Guntur Talkies, you acknowledge that you have been informed of these risks and that we are not liable for adverse reactions resulting from undisclosed allergies or dietary restrictions.

5. Refund and Return Policy

Customer satisfaction is important to us. Our refund policy is as follows:

  • If you receive an incorrect order, please notify our staff immediately. We will correct the order or issue a full refund for the affected item(s) at our discretion.
  • Refunds for quality concerns must be raised at the point of service before leaving the truck. We are unable to process refund requests after you have left the premises.
  • We do not offer refunds for change of mind, personal taste preferences, or customization requests that were fulfilled as instructed.
  • Refunds, where applicable, will be returned to the original payment method or offered as store credit at our discretion.

6. Catering and Private Events

Guntur Talkies offers catering services for private events, corporate gatherings, and community functions. The following terms apply to all catering bookings:

6.1 Bookings and Deposits

All catering engagements require a signed catering agreement and a non-refundable deposit (amount to be specified in the catering agreement) to secure the date. Bookings are not confirmed until the deposit is received.

6.2 Cancellations

Cancellations made more than 14 days before the event date will result in forfeiture of the deposit only. Cancellations made within 14 days of the event may result in additional charges as outlined in the catering agreement. Guntur Talkies reserves the right to cancel bookings due to circumstances beyond our control (weather, equipment failure, etc.) and will provide a full refund or reschedule option in such cases.

6.3 Menu and Guest Count

Final menu selections and confirmed guest counts must be provided no later than 7 days before the event. Changes made after this deadline may not be accommodated and may incur additional fees.

7. Customer Conduct

We are committed to providing a welcoming environment for all customers and staff. We ask that all patrons:

  • Treat our staff and other customers with courtesy and respect.
  • Refrain from disruptive, abusive, threatening, or harassing behavior.
  • Follow any queue or ordering procedures in place at the truck.

Guntur Talkies reserves the right to refuse service to any individual who violates these standards of conduct without obligation to issue a refund for any pending transaction.

8. Intellectual Property

All content associated with Guntur Talkies, including our name, logo, menu designs, photographs, and promotional materials, is the property of Guntur Talkies and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use our branding or content without express written permission.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Guntur Talkies and its owners, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of your use of our services, including but not limited to:

  • Allergic reactions or adverse health effects from consumption of our food products where allergen information was not disclosed by the customer.
  • Delays in service due to high demand, weather, equipment issues, or other circumstances beyond our control.
  • Loss or damage to personal property on or near our truck premises.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from the use of our services shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the specific transaction giving rise to the claim.

10. Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Iowa, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Polk County, Iowa.
